Welcome on the webpage of the woodland conservation research group of the Eötvös Loránd University, Department of Plant Systematics, Ecology and Theoretical Biology. The focus of our research for the past 25 years has been forests of the submontane regions. The main aim of our studies on composition, structure and dynamics of the various layers of forest stands is to provide hands-on knowledge for nature-based forest management and conservation action. We carry out long term research of reserves, comparisons of sites with different levels of management as well as experiments. During our research we involve and cooperate with local forest managers and conservation practitioners.
